Chet Zar at the Stranger Factory for the opening of his new show and NRG Creations was there to capture all of the action. Chet Zar unveiled ten new paintings, all of which were beautiful contained in his custom, hand sculpted frames. In addition the unbelievable Doktor A and Chet Zar collaboration sculpture was unveiled. Pictures in no way do justice to this four sectioned piece which is, at its base, roughly a foot in diameter. Brandt Peters and Kathie Olivas, the owners of the Stranger Factory, graciously hosted the opening in their eclectic art gallery, nestled within their equally bizarre toy shop in the Nob Hill section of Albuquerque.
The following day held an even more exciting event as far as ILTPM was concerned. Chet Zar took over the gallery for two hours, during which he lectured on where he draws his inspiration from, while accentuating the discussion with an exciting slide show. He also touched upon the more philosophical aspects of our worldly state of affairs, and how he goes about dealing with the pressures of producing good work while simultaneously generating enough income to stay afloat. I can comfortably say that, to date, some of this footage tops the cake as far as the Documentary is concerned.
